There should be a new sandy beach in Airlie by Christmas if plans by the Port of Airlie developers go ahead.

Time frames for the development are back on track after losing several weeks due to wet weather in January and February.

Meridien's project director, John Warlow, said this week he expected the new beach and parkland to be accessible to the public by Christmas.
