An all-tide beach for the public.

The much-anticipated Port of Airlie project reached a milestone yesterday with the christening of the Ferry Boat Harbour.

Ocean water can now be flooded into the two-hectare harbour, marking the successful completion of the first stage of the $500 million Meridien development.

Meridien chief executive Warwick Bible said the flooding of the harbour was an important step in the progress of the project.
